NOMA Urban Bar and Grill is a unique destination in downtown Winston-Salem.  NOMA is one of those spots that accommodates anyone seeking a sleek, approachable dining experience.

NOMA is where people come to celebrate in a comfortable, downtempo setting at a great price.

NOMA stands for 'North Marshall' where we proudly sit in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Chris and Kathleen Barnes are the husband and wife ownership team for NOMA.   They originally jump started the local dining scene with the opening of Sixth and Vine Wine Bar and Cafe in 2005.  In the spirit of bringing unique dining concepts to Winston-Salem, Chris and Kathleen also opened NOMA Urban Bar and Grill in December of 2008.

Come experience this contemporary approachable bar and grill and enjoy something totally different.

I would love to see more soup options now that it's getting colder outside! Tomato Basil? Thanks!

I wish Noma was open later on weekdays. We arrived around 9:30 and ordered, but didn't realize that the kitchen closed at 10. We wanted to order dessert, but we weren't able to. Our waiter was great. The asked to sit upstairs and the hostess said she would rather seat us downstairs to give another server more business but it was ok and she proceeded to skip several feet ahead of us. She was very nice, but in a restaurant those are things that a hostess may think but shouldn't say. Overall it was a good experience. The food is tasty and a great value!

This is the 2nd time I've had the same server and he was not as attentive as I thought he should be. After I asked for a glass of Pinot Grigio (for the 2nd time) I got Pinot Noir.

This was our second visit to NOMA. Our first experience was great, and the food was quite good (I had stuffed portabello and my husband had a pizza). We were happy to return again, but on our second visit, the entrees on the menu looked fairly uninteresting. Both my husband and I felt like there wasn't much on the menu that piqued our interest, other than the two dishes we had already tried. The food we did order was just "okay" (chips and pico, conch fritters, salad, and meat loaf). I would consider returning to NOMA for drinks (those were good both times!), but I don't think it will be on my list of places to go for dinner anytime soon.

The speakers were a little loud upstairs but someone turned them down. We loved our visit. It was a very relaxing experience but we were in awe of how quickly our food was served and how well prepared it was. A perfect experience; we will be back!
